9:30 - 12:30
Please join us for our Spin-a-thon at Gold's Gym in Charles Town to help raise money for the American Diabetes Association. Raise some funds for a great cause and get a great workout in the process! All proceeds will be donated to members of this years ADA Tour de Cure team.
The way it works is if you wish to participate you need to raise $25 to reserve a bike for one hour. If we reserve all 19 bikes for the first hour, we'll begin reserving bikes for the second hour.
For more details or to register a bike, see http://panhandlepedalers.com/Spinathon/

- Penny Farthing Race coming to Fredreick
I wanted to pass this along as I just got word this morning.
For the first time in the United States there will be a Penny Farthing Race August 18th in Frederick, Maryland. It will run the same weekend as the Tour-de-Frederick.
These High-Wheelers are fun to watch. Not the same riding them as our current bikes.
If your not doing anything and want to watch the fun, mark it down and go.Here is a link to see a race in Australia 2008 :

- Garmin Bike Mounts for sale NEW - $10!
Anyone need an extra set of Garmin Edge 500 mounts? These may fit other Garmins as well, check the Garmin website.
I ordered two packs thinking there was only one mount in each, but there were two in each package.
So let me know if you need some extra mounts for all you nuts that have extra bikes. (I needed 4 myself...)

- 2011 Wrap Up
OK, so I'm stealing the idea for this thread from bicycling.com. Now that the year is wrapped up, what is everyone's mileage totals for 2011?
4,808 for me - this includes two trainer rides. If you take those out it would be 4771 real outdoor miles.
- New Years Day Ride
Folks--New Years Day Ride--the weather report has gotten much better--temps in the 50s, mostly sunny. Let's meet at the Antietam Visitor at 11:30, and start the ride at 11:40. The whole ride is about 18 miles, with an earlier bail- out.
- Riding this week?
Anybody else off this week between the holidays want to put some miles in?
- used tubes
hey, everyone. if anyone has any used tubes laying around that they don't need, I could use the rubber. let me know, and i can come get them one evening.
thanks,
marcus
